Founded by Fritz & Holly Heffinger in Chicago, IL on April 20, 2010.
Co-Founder & CEO
Just after college, Fritz jumpstarted his career in experiential marketing while on tour for Blue Bunny Ice Cream, and he never looked back. He led an experiential shop in Kansas City prior to his move to Chicago where he founded OutCold. In the early years of OutCold, he rooted himself in the action sports and automotive industries combining two of his passions. He then worked to build a killer team and a fully functional fabrication shop housed inside of the agency warehouse. Client and project highlights include the development and execution of non-traditional marketing campaigns and events for High Brew Coffee, Jeep, Liquid Force, The Field Museum and Toyota.
Fritz is a vehicle enthusiast and collector, an adrenaline junky and a self-proclaimed Amateur Stuntman. He’s a father of two adrenaline junkies in training and his #dadvan is a 1987 VW Westfalia. You will most certainly find him with van and fam in tow fully dressed in tie-dye at the next Phish show.
Co-Founder & CMO
Holly began her start in the Kansas City ad community where she worked in traditional agencies by day and in the event world by nights and weekends. She built her career in Account Service before she co-founded OutCold in 2010. Holly lead the development of the OutCold operation by instituting process and a strong account service team. Throughout her career, she’s led the strategy, design and development of award winning events and tours for Amazon, Nordstrom, Topshop, Toyota and Chrysler.
In her free time you’ll find her in some sort of tree-pose balancing act raising two small children and chasing after a Bernese mountain Dog/Poodle mix all while rummaging through a great estate sale.

What’s with the Name?
OutCold’s name is inspired by this early millennium film about a group of devoted and genuine friends that love life and enjoy a good time, that is what life on Bull Mountain is all about. But that all looks to have a quick end when town’s founder dies and his son decides to sell the mountain to slick Colorado businessman. Nobody supports his plans to turn the mountain into an “espresso-and-tofu” ski resort, and it’s up to the group of original friends to keep Bull Mountain yuppie-free. OutCold aims to hold true to a similar outlook, while we respect vegetarians, we want to bring other non-tofu options to the table too.
